Capture What Counts Photography

I’ll be back eventually…

Just wanted to post a quick note since I haven’t posted a new photo in a long time.

I have been really busy and had a lot of things going on.  Then, last Sunday night while cooking dinner for my family, I dropped a kitchen knife off the counter.  The knife severed two tendons and cut two branches of an artery in my foot.  A trip to the ER and a surgery later, I am at home recovering.  I still have a week before I can even (hopefully!) go back to work.  Not sure if I will have to have physical therapy at some point or not…hoping not.

I would appreciate any prayers and or good thoughts you can send my way.  This has been a life changing event and I am really struggling with being so helpless and having to depend on other people.

I’m still trying to keep up with everyone’s blogs, and at least clicking the “like” button if I’m not commenting.  Thank you all for your continued support.  It means the world to me.

To leave you with at least a photo…we recently acquired another kitty that needed a home.  She stole my heart the minute I saw her, but this past week she has really been such a blessing to me.  I truly believe she was put here on earth to help me through this ordeal.  My days for now are confined to the couch with my leg elevated above my waist.  This little treasure, who we named Sophie, has been my constant companion.  Here she is today, napping with me.  :)

#9/52 – Transportation

While sitting at the railroad crossing last night, waiting for the train to go by, I thought “there has to be a photo theme I can use for a shot of this train!”   Photo taken with iPhone.

#8/52 – On the Road

I have joined an exercise program called Couch to 5K.  I am hoping to eventually become a runner, and be able to complete a 5K running…not walking.  I have asthma, and with it being so cold here in KY still, it’s really hindering me.  And my calves have been really sore, but I keep at it.

I’ve been using the Nike+ Running app on my phone to keep track of my progress.  As you can see, I had to slow down a little after the first two days, but I’m building my speed back up.  I’m on the road

#7/52 – Curves

Macy and I spent the weekend at Lake Cumberland celebrating the 1 year birthday of baby Hanson!  We stayed at a dear friend’s house, and this is the view off her back deck.  Natural curves :)

#6/52 – Winter

We had a touch of winter today.  Snowed like crazy for a  couple of hours and then it all melted before it was time to leave work.  Just the way I like it!

#5/52 – Games

The past few days, I have grown slightly addicted to the game “What’s the Word” on my iPhone.  So addicted that I completed every level in the game, and now I have to wait for new levels to be added before I can play again.  Really not sure what I’m going to do with myself…

#3/52 – Off Center

This is my boy, Cullen.  Caught this off center shot while he was running and playing in the snow.

#1/52 – Reflections

Happy New Year everyone!  I have once again signed up to participate in the Photo Challenge through Elements Village.  You can follow all the participants here.

This year I will be taking photos with my iPhone as well as my camera.  This week’s photo was taken with my phone and edited in the app called Water My Photo.
