Capture What Counts Photography

Chichen Itza

While Rob and I were in Mexico, we visited Chichen Itza, one of the new seven wonders of the world.  During the 3-hour bus ride to the ruins, our tour guide, Gilberto, gave us the history of the Mayan civilization and of the ruins.  It was a wonderful excursion and I’m so glad we were able to see this amazing piece of history.

Here are a couple photos of the main pyramid.  I’ll post some of the other ruins over the next few days.  Photos are SOOC.

Ph wow – were you able to walk to the top of any of them?

    • No unfortunately, they no longer allow people on the ruins themselves. Several (drunk) spring breakers fell off and got killed, and they also vandalized (graffiti) the inside rooms of the pyramid. Such a shame that people have to be so disrespectful.

Lucky You!! I love that first picture..the close up and the angle really gives us perspective of the textures and size! Very cool.

And of course you can pass on the polar bear pic to your friend! 🙂

That first photo really gives an amazing view of the stairway. It communicates distinct feelings about the people who designed and walked up those stairs.
