Capture What Counts Photography

#4/52 Yummy!

Today is the hub’s birthday, and I made my first ever cake from scratch for him.  Thank you to my sister-friends Amanda, Kim and Kistina for the support (this was quite traumatic for me LOL!  I love to cook but have never baked much of anything unless it was from Toll House or Betty Crocker.)  It turned out amazing!  I want to eat this icing every day.  Forever.  Seriously.

      • And that is not because I ate a giant spoonful of it . Out of the bowl. Before the cake was frosted. Nope.

  12. Kim, the recipe comes from Gina and Pat Neely’s cookbook, not sure the name, but it’s their new one and I know the word Celebrations is in it. A friend of mine made it and she sent me the recipe.

I don’t bake cakes from scratch, but at least Betty Crocker and Pillsbury (and whatever friends they have 😉 ) beat store bought cakes any day 🙂

  22. I don’t see the recipe! Looks wonderful. I see you’re doing the Project 52 also. I didn’t know how to title mine with an intro. I probably should go back and retitle now that I know. Wonderful image, we were both thinking of chocolate this week. Is it going to be one of those years again. LOL

  23. Delish! Now I got to go find me some chocolate.

  24. The frosting does look lip-smacking! Don’t think I’d have had enough left after tasting to frost the cake. You’ve made it look very inviting!
