Capture What Counts Photography

#38/52 – Money

Last night, I met my dear friend Kim (and her adorable baby Hanson) for a fundraiser to benefit an organization called Kerrington’s Heart.  I first heard about Kerrington’s Heart when Hanson was at Kentucky Children’s Hospital following his birth.  You can read more about Hanson and his journey here.  🙂

While at the hospital with Kim and Hanson back in February, I had the great pleasure of meeting Kerrington’s mother, Christy, when she came by to see Kim.  “Kerrington’s Heart is a non-profit organization that provides education and assistance to families and children affected by CHD. Kerrington’s Heart, Inc. was organized by parents and loved ones to promote Congenital Heart Disease awareness and provide a reliable support system for children with heart disease, their parents, and caregivers.”

The fundraiser last night was such a great event!  There was live music, cornhole games, great food, and several different raffles.  Several of the “heart babies” were there, and it was so nice to meet some of the other families.  I hope the event raised lots of money for this fabulous organization!
