Day 318 – Christ Church Cathedral

It’s still raining here in the N KY.  As of this morning, we’ve gotten 11.32 inches of rain since April 1.  The next dry day they are forecasting is Friday.  Hoping that does not change…I miss my old friend sunshine.

Went back to the archives today and found this photo of the steeple at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Cincinnati.  Photo was taken on March 19, 2011 and is SOOC.

Day 281 – Twin Peaks

Rob and I spent the afternoon around Cincinnati taking photographs.  We both got in some practice with the new 60D, which by the way, I am totally in love with!!  I wish we had made the investment sooner…

This photo was taken with my old reliable Sony, but I love the perspective of it.  I shot it literally on the run, trying to keep up with Rob as we went back to the car.  (This beautiful church was not in a very nice part of the Nati…strange how that works out, eh?)  I seem to migrate to church steeples when out on a photo walk, but some are just so amazing, I just can’t help myself.  Several were like that today, but I won’t post them all at once.  🙂

Day 274 – Cloudy Steeple

Macy and I spent the afternoon with some friends in Indiana today.  On the way back home, I had to stop and get a shot of this steeple.  It looked so awesome against the blue sky and fluffy clouds.  (SOOC)

Day 210 – Old English Steeple

An unplanned trip to a Post Office in a different town led me directly to my idea of a photography gold mine!  Y’all know I love me some church steeples…well within a 3 block radius of the Post Office, I found 5 churches!!  I just have to say I was beside myself!  And even though it was freezing cold, windy and snow flurries were flying, I had to stop and get some photos.  I wish I had some beautiful blue sky to go along with this, but I will go back another day!

I turned up the saturation just a tad to bring out the details above the door.  It looks like some of the bricks have been replaced around the cross cut-out, and I love how they used the Old English spelling of church.

Day 170 – Great Combination

I love finding steeples that are also clock towers.  Two of my favorite things rolled into one awesome package.  🙂

Day 115 – Two Towers

Y’all know I love me some towers, especially clock towers.  And this one is a beauty!  Paired with the awesome steeple, both standing tall against the brilliant blue sky, what’s not to love?

This was taken in downtown Maysville, KY.
