Saw these red coneflowers growing along a fence line and had to stop and get a photo.
I love the design the shadows created on this daffodil. Hope everyone has a blessed Easter!
One from the archives today. Found this wasp hanging out on some Queen Anne’s Lace. SOOC.
All this cold weather has me already longing for sunshine and flowers. And buzzy things. Enjoy!
SOOC except for a slight crop.
Have I mentioned that I love daisies? Well I do. Adore them. They’re my fave. And then, I found this beauty. It’s an English daisy, and it’s fringy little petals just stole my heart. That’s a whole lotta he loves me, he loves me not. 🙂

I was in absolute heaven today. I took Macy to see her Mamaw…and I got to take photos of all of her amazing flowers. Thanks Carol and Melody!
Melody got Carol this bleeding heart for Mother’s Day. I haven’t found my own plant yet, but at least I got some photos. 🙂
Today Macy and I went to see a movie and had some great mommy – daughter time. This is the beautiful Merleau Blue Salvia plant she gave me for Mother’s Day.
Hope all you Mothers had a fabulous day!
Photo is SOOC.
Just playing around at home with a lily bouquet I bought. What else is there to do on a cold, rainy day…right? I have so much fun shooting flowers at home since my friend Cathy told me about creating my own backgrounds! Photo is SOOC. 🙂
Congratulations to the winners of April’s FabFoto Contest!
Here is one of the photos that I entered…and a special thanks to my amazing friend Tammy for enlightening me about different colored redbuds. This is the Cercis canadensis ‘Alba’. And it’s SOOC. 🙂
The April FabFoto contest theme was Redbuds. I took a drive out to the country to find some, but I found plenty then. Contest results are not in yet, but I’ll keep you posted. 🙂
Photo taken in DeMossville, KY and is SOOC.
When was the last time you picked a dandelion puff and made a wish as you blew the seeds? I did today!
I’ve tried a few times recently to make an awesome dandelion puff photo. I thought I had a pretty good one, then I saw this beauty of Sasi’s. So today I went back to the drawing board and tried again. I can’t top Sasi’s…it’s just too amazing! But here’s my best attempt so far.
I absolutely love dogwoods. They are by far my favorite tree. Maybe it’s because they are so abundant in NC where I grew up. That’s not the case here in the N KY, but I did catch this little bud, just getting ready to greet the world. Photo is SOOC.
It’s been raining here again today, so I didn’t get out to take a new photo. The few times I was out I got totally soaked, and who wants to take a camera out in that, right?
So here’s another shot of the beautiful Gerbera daisy from the other day. Enjoy!
The softness of these petals makes me think of angel wings…
I am still struggling with being sick, so I am going to post and run again. This spider mum is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Hope y’all are enjoying your weekend and thanks for visiting!
This cold is really kicking my butt so I didn’t take a photo today either. Thank goodness I had already requested today off since Macy was out of school for the holiday. This is a spider mum (and the only kind of spider I want in my house!) I posted a different shot earlier in my blog, but it’s such a cool flower, I figured another photo couldn’t hurt. 🙂
If you follow my blog, you know that I despise winter. In the span of 24 hours we’ve had freezing rain, sleet, snow, winds of 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, and now snow again. Seriously?
So, in protest, here’s a flower. Gorgeous, right? Come on spring!!!
And speaking of protest, please keep Egypt in your prayers.
This flower I and are the same…just waiting for spring…
Here’s another flower for today. I just can’t help it. 🙂
I think my favorite thing about taking a bunch of photos at one time is sitting down to look at them. When I see them on the computer screen, sometimes I am amazed at what I have done. More often than not, that’s not a good thing! Sometimes the view finder on the camera can be a trickster…leading you to believe that you have something wonderful that turns out to be, well, useless. And then…sometimes…you find a treasure waiting for you.
I don’t think I have ever been able to say this about a photo that I have taken (although I’ve said it many times looking at the photos that y’all have taken) but when I saw this photo of mine, I literally sucked in a breath and made this squeaking sound that I can’t even put into letters to form a word. Move over Green Lantern, there’s a new favorite in town. 🙂
(Photo is SOOC)
I have discovered some new Project 365’s this week, and learned a lot from them (including that my ability to “ooh” and “aah” is never ending and that I really, really wish we had a DSLR camera.) I learned a new acronym too, SOOC…which means Straight Out Of the Camera. And that’s exactly what this photo is. SOOC at it’s finest.
Here’s another orchid shot from the Conservatory. I know, I know…and I even took some photos today, but I just love this shot. I love how the sunlight makes the petals look all shiny. I love how it looks like it has two front teeth. And I love how it looks like a big tongue sticking out. Hmm…maybe I’ve been sitting on the couch too long today. 🙂
I have had a very busy and stressful week and I am just flat worn out tonight. I did take some photos today, but I am just too tired to even look at them. So I confess, today’s photo was taken a couple of weeks ago in Lexington.
Purple is my favorite color, so I couldn’t resist this daisy 🙂
Photo is unedited.
