I spent the weekend at Lake Cumberland, KY where I met some amazing women and made some lifelong friends. I am truly blessed to have been a part of this fabulous weekend.
This was the view off the back deck of the home we visited, just as the sun was going down. Photo is SOOC also.
Here’s another shot from the lake last weekend. Isn’t it gorgeous? I could totally get used to seeing this every day. 🙂
Macy and I went to visit my sister-friend Kim this past weekend, and we got to explore a little more of the beautiful countryside by Lake Cumberland. After stopping at the fish hatchery, Kim took us down to this little creek where we found some more geodes. Don’t be surprised to see some photos of them in a later post! 🙂
For now, here’s a photo at the creek.
A few weekends ago, we visited my dear friend Kim and her husband Randy, and they took us to Lake Cumberland in southern KY. Kim was showing us around some points of interest when she asked us if we’d ever seen geodes. Of course we were like “what?” So she took us to one of the boat ramps and we commenced to searching for these amazing rocks. We found 7 that we brought home and I couldn’t wait to get the hammer out and see what was waiting inside them! Among them, we found this beauty! SOOC.
The kind of geodes found here in KY contain quartz crystals. There are geodes that contain amethyst in other parts of the country. Amethyst is my birthstone, and I’d really love to have one of THOSE geodes. In case you find one somewhere. Just sayin’. 🙂
Found this Tiger Swallowtail hangin’ out by the dam at Lake Cumberland. SOOC.
